Durst and Italian press manufacturer Omet have jointly launched their new Omet XJet integrated hybrid solution for high-performance labels and packaging printing.
GMG is making its proof control software for digital printing future-proof with version 2.4. Product manager Jens Bloeck explains: "We are meeting industry demands with the support of the digital standard Fogra PSD (process standard for digital production): process stability and quality assurance are playing an increasingly important role in digital printing."
X-Rite has reported that Finnish company Pyroll Packages is the first flexographic printer worldwide to achieve Pantone Certified Printer status. The initial certification audit was conducted at the company’s location at Joensuu, one of ten locations across the country. Pyroll plans to continue this program in 2018. The certification was carried out by X-Rite Solutions Architect Mark Gundlach and International Technical Support and Application Expert Maxim Siniak together with Certified Pantone Partner and packaging repro house Flexolahti Oy and X-Rite dealer KTA Oy.

X-Rite Incorporated used the PIA Colour Conference and EFI Connect to announce that its award-winning eXact family of handheld spectrophotometers now includes a Spot Colour Tone Value (SCTV) feature that supports the latest ISO 20654 standard. The eXact SCTV configuration allows commercial and package printers to verify tone value for spot colours that correlate well with visual appearance. With this latest firmware update to the eXact family, printers will be able to more easily verify both spot and process colours that brands specify using the new standard.
